Basic Scope of Job
The ideal candidate will assist in managing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and supporting the senior accounting staff with reconciliations and data entry. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a solid foundation in accounting and financial practices within a professional environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
Handle data entry of daily financial transactions in accounting software
Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable
Process invoices, receipts, and payments
Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes
Support audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations
Monitor and report on inventory records and fixed assets
Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal departments regarding financial transactions
Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned
Education & Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or related field
Experience
0–2 years of relevant accounting experience (internships or training experience is a plus)
Special Skills
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or Focus is an advantage
