A top established American school in Kuwait seeks an experienced Whole School Principal for August 2025
General responsibilities:
• To lead the school and to develop its excellence from K to Grade 12.
• To advance experience of senior leadership and a working knowledge of the international curriculum assuring high quality teaching and learning standards.
• To model a full commitment to values-based learning and leadership.
• To model a full commitment to the International Dimension of Learning and Living.
• To foster individual and cultural alignment to the philosophy of the school.
• To demonstrate day to day ability to embrace, articulate and model the KAS mission, vision, and student learning results.
• To participate in the school's accreditation process.
• To be a leading member of the Senior Management Team, with the Director and Coordinators, and to contribute a working knowledge of:
• To bring the personal qualities of, amongst others, servant leadership, an international outlook, excellent communication skills, flexibility in thought, creativity, the ability to motivate others, professionalism, cooperation, adaptability and team spirit.
• To be approachable, calm and with a well-developed sense of humor.

• To be an excellent community builder who engenders trust in their leadership and capacity to discern.
• To take the lead and delegate multi faceted responsibilities for reaching out and raising standards that will include:
o Promoting, assuring, appraising and monitoring the quality of teaching and learning.
o Promoting and assuring curriculum standards, development, overview and monitoring.
o Organizing and overseeing reporting.
o Facilitating everyday discipline including counseling.
o Meeting with parents on issues of the day.
o Leading and facilitating assemblies.

• To function as a chief articulator of all school programs, expectations, behavioral guidelines and other information necessary to ensure that all are informed including all relevant agencies.
• To ensure, where necessary, compliance with requirements for those agencies and authorizations required for the accreditation of the school.
• To recommend policies.
• To foster professional working relationships conducive to high levels of staff performance and satisfaction.
• To oversee the health and safety, maintenance of facilities and recommend improvements.
• To monitor learning standards and appraise staff.
• To assist in maintaining a comprehensive calendar of school events to keep the school community fully aware.
• To be a visible presence in all areas of the school.
• To work toward a resolution of all problems as they arise.
• To assess the future needs of the school.
• To recruit and advise on recruitment, as required.
• To keep the Director informed of the general programs, activities, and concerns of the school.
• To perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
Specific Responsibilities
With students and parents
• To provide an orderly and supportive school environment.
• To be aware of the educational, physical, social, and psychological needs of the members of our school community and to develop plans for meeting these needs.
• To provide for the academic guidance of students.
• To oversee maintaining complete academic records of all students.
• To be responsible for maintaining and interpreting the guidelines for proper student conduct as part of the school's goal and mission.
• To assist in, and regularly review, the admission process for interviewing and evaluating applicants for enrollment.
• To establish and maintain positive and proactive relations with the parent body through written communication and personal meetings .
• To facilitate orientation meetings with students, where necessary.
• To supervise and monitor student attendance.
• To supervise the overall pastoral care of the school.

With the KG, Elementary and Middle/ High Schools
• To act as an educational leader.
• To nurture, guide, assist and empower each school coordinator to fulfil their responsibilities.
• To ensure that the quality curriculum is in line with the school’s aims, mission and values.
• To lead each school age related area in the articulation of the school mission, school goals, course objectives, methods and means of assessment.
• To ensure that teachers are familiar with and adhere to school policies in all areas of the school operation.
• To work with the program coordinators in the continued development of the international curriculum in line with accreditation requirements.
• To help the faculty develop their teaching through observation, supervision, and discussion.
• To create the schedule assuring that room allocation and specialist facilities are time managed and commensurate with regulations and requirements.
• To ensure that appropriate assessment and reporting procedures are employed effectively.
• To ensure that accurate student records are maintained.
• To prepare with the Senior Management team, for the Director and Governors, a school development plan with cost effective resource needs coupled with curriculum requirements and the professional development requirements of all staff.
• To help establish and run programs for the induction of new staff.
• To promote a collaborative, creative and cooperative working environment.
• To promote regular meetings with the schools which will deal with routine school matters and the stimulating exchange of ideas on issues of educational interest and concern.
• To monitor the progress of the students and coordinate support where required.
• To assist the administration, individual staff and ancillary staff in the effective application of their responsibilities and duties.
• To advise on the professional development of staff.
• To activate and monitor the accreditation process and maintain the highest of standards for all students, staff and the school community.
Qualifications:
o Previous successful teaching experience at Elementary, Middle and High School levels.
o Experience of working in international and multi cultural schools.
o Experience in the development and supervision of curriculum.
o Demonstrated ability to engage the school in the improvement of teaching, learning and faculty professional development.
o An authentic vision of the future role of technology in education.
o A demonstrated ability to promote an ethos of quality teaching and quality learning in a positive living values climate.
o Strong organization, time management, communication and listening skills.
o Advancement of the school's extra-curricular activities
The school offers:
Monthly Salary Range: KWD 1900 - KWD 2100 depending on experience

+ Overseas Special Benefits:

o KAS Housing: the school will provide one single furnished bedroom apartment - walking distance from the school . "And the KAS Housing of the months of July and August will be provided to the second party only in the case of renewing the contract for the next academic year."

o Annual airline ticket:
The first party shall secure the second party an annual round-trip airfare allowance to and from the home country (the main airport) - Economy Class. The ticket value is calculated with the value of its average annual price through one of the travel offices operating in the State of Kuwait.

o Health Insurance:
The First Party shall provide the Second Party with full coverage private health insurance.
o Baggage Allowance:
 Baggage and Freight Allowance of KWD 100 – to Kuwait – (paid one time upon the first arrival) – shipping receipts required.
 Baggage and Freight Allowance of KWD 100 – from Kuwait – after completion of 2 contractual years and shipping receipts to be submitted.
