Job Description
TITLE: HIGH SCHOOL VICE PRINCIPAL
Primary Functions:
The Vice Principal is responsible for managing High School staff as directed by the Principal. Responsibilities include program management, discipline, staff evaluations, and professional development on classroom management; implement procedures and guidelines for an ISS program and A-Team.
Responsibilities:
- Providing supervision and evaluation of all High School staff in regards to curriculum implementation and classroom management procedures, providing follow-up and evaluation, and maintaining appropriate documentation.
- Weekly monitoring of High School department grades, ensuring grades are posted and updated weekly before Principal review.
- Supervising verification of all High School Department grades at report card time before verification by the Principal.
- Meeting with parents who have concerns about programs or teachers with regards to discipline and behavior management issues.
- To keep the Principal and school Superintendent apprised of all relevant and pertinent issues.
- Bi-annual student assessments of subjects from grades-12 reporting before appropriate reporting to Principal, management, and parents.
Student Control and Supervision
- Establish a climate in which students can develop self-discipline.
- To have disciplinary authority over each student while on school premises, while riding on school buses, and while taking part in authorized school activities.
- To have authority over activities sponsored and conducted by the student organizations of the school under the direction of the Principal.
- Be responsible for the supervision of students and student activities in the school buildings, on school grounds, or involved in field trips or other student activities sponsored by the school.
- Monitor students arriving and leaving times from school paying special attention that no pupil is allowed to leave the school grounds for any reason unless being picked up by a parent or driver. Prior permission has been given the following office procedures.
- Daily lunch duty in the cafeteria to manage student behavior.
- Other duties assigned by the Principal or management.
