Job Description

  • Additionally, as a barista, you may be responsible for cash handling and operating the point-of-sale system, accurately processing transactions and maintaining cash drawer accuracy throughout your shift.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including coffee machines, grinders, and brewing equipment, to ensure the utmost hygiene and safety.
  • Your responsibilities extend to keeping an eye on coffee bean and supplies stock levels, promptly notifying the supervisor when restocking is needed to maintain uninterrupted service during peak times.
  • Your role involves the continuous upkeep of a clean and organized workspace, encompassing coffee machines, grinders, and brewing equipment, to guarantee a hygienic and safe environment.
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization in your workspace, covering coffee machines, grinders, and brewing equipment, to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Assume responsibility for all aspects of the coffee production.
  • Be capable of completing and overseeing all daily operations of the coffee bar
  • Oversee all barista employees, including training and continuing education, discipline and commendation.
  • Management of baristas’ customer service, preparation and presentation of beverages and information, operational procedures, merchandising
  • Contribute ideas as far as operational flow in achieving target sales and profitability
  • Be “on-call” with the responsibility to respond to problems or fill-in when needed.
  • Cultivate a professional, friendly, efficient work environment
  • Lead barista meetings
  • Proactive training staff to maintain and uphold all company and café policies.
  • Actively work toward creating a superlative café experience through customer service, beverage preparation and presentation, in-store marketing, and upkeep of the physical space
  • Ensure all projects and responsibilities are completed in a timely, efficient manner
  • Handle customer complaints with professionalism and tact
  • Manage break of barista and ensure the coffee bar is properly staffed
  • Proactively solve problems and make decisions that benefit the café and company at large

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to self-direct when necessary
  • High level of organization
  • Adaptability and the ability to creatively troubleshoot difficult situations
  • Superior leadership capabilities; ability to work well within groups
  • At least 3 years of experience in specialty coffee and the coffee industry
  • Focused perspective on what a high-functioning coffee bar looks like and how to execute that perspective
  • A passion for small business and quality products
  • Be a model barista, both as far as bar skills, customer service and enthusiasm to share knowledge
  • Detail-oriented
  • Previous management experience.
  • Can multitask and work calmly and effectively under pressure
