Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lighting System Estimation:
- Evaluate project plans, drawings, specifications, and site conditions to prepare accurate lighting system cost estimates.
- Develop detailed lighting layout study , taking into consideration factors like alternatives , pricing , lighting codes, and client preferences.
2 . Vendor Coordination:
- Request and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for lighting fixtures, control systems, and related materials.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best pricing and ensure timely delivery of products.
3. Bid Preparation and Documentation:
- Prepare and submit competitive bids for lighting installation and systems integration projects.
- Ensure all estimates are clearly documented and supported with accurate technical data and assumptions.
4.Team Interaction:
- Maintain clear communication with team to understand their requirements, provide project updates, and offer recommendations for cost-effective lighting solutions.
- Work closely with project managers, electrical engineers, and designers to ensure the seamless integration of lighting systems into broader project designs.
5. Research and Development:
- Stay up to date on the latest lighting technologies, products, and industry trends.
- Recommend new lighting solutions, energy-efficient alternatives, and innovative technologies to enhance system performance and reduce costs.
Skills
Skills and Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Lighting Design, or a related field.
-Additional certifications in estimating, electrical design, or energy-efficient lighting are a plus.
-3+ years of experience in lighting estimation, electrical engineering, or a similar field, preferably in construction or electrical contracting.
-Experience with lighting design software (e.g., Dialux, Relux) is highly desirable.
-Strong understanding of electrical systems, lighting technologies, and relevant codes (e.g., NEC, IES, ASHRAE).
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project), as well as estimation and project management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, or similar tools).
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
-Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external vendors.
-Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
-Analytical mindset with the ability to assess cost-effective solutions.
-Problem-solving abilities and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Work Environment:
- Office-based, with occasional site visits required for project assessments, coordination, and meetings with clients or contractors.
- Some travel may be required depending on the project locations.
