Category Educational and Training Job Type Part-time Typical Pay/Range Education High School Diploma or GED Travel Up to 100% Security Clearance Required Secret POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS): The OPO-T Tactical Medical and Skills Instructor is responsible for teaching a variety of courses and subjects at an OCONUS location. This position will be required to act as a subject matter expert in the cleared areas of expertise, as well as provide support in additional capacities.
Provide direct instruction in tactical medicine Provide direct instruction in Stress Briefing, Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and first aid Provide direct instruction in Pre-Hospital Trauma Assessments and TACEVAC Participate in mass casualty assessment and planning Perform medical QA/QC Perform medical escort and liaison duties with local health care facilities Act as a medical equipment consultant and custodian Conduct medical curriculum development Participate in continual staff development for emergency medical response Ensure all training events are conducted in a safe and compliant manner Conduct lecture, range, and practical exercise events Plan, coordinate, and conduct weapons qualifications and training Ensure that all equipment, weapons, ammunition, and materials are on-hand for training Support delivery of ERT/QRF and Tactical Skills instruction/operations Support instruction of Protective Operations and Guard Training
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: This position requires prior government approval to work on the contract. Biographical Requirements and additional qualifications are as follows:
Must be a U.S. citizen. Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience in tactical medicine and/or medical first response Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of firearms instruction experience Must possess a minimum of six (6) years of operational experience related to areas of Protective Operations, Guard Training, and Tactical Skills instruction. Up to three (3) years of experience as an instructor in the topics related to the instructor responsibilities may be considered as a substitution towards the minimum operational experience Must have attended and successfully completed a minimum of eighty (80) hours of training in adult learning and/or instructional techniques Must be able to obtain and maintain a Personnel Security Clearance Must possess a valid US Passport Must possess no impediments to traveling overseas to and within countries that are considered dangerous or unhealthy in general
