Senior Finance Officer



Ensure accurate coding of budget and expenses, in full compliance with WVI internal policies and donor requirements (both UN and non-UN donors) , including accounting, reporting, and year-end closing processes.Assist in discussions regarding grant reports with project teams, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and timely submissions to UNICEF, WFP, OCHA , and other international donors .Ensure grant accounting adheres to UN agency and other donor requirements, particularly in terms of expense coding, reporting, and fiscal year-end procedures for both UN and non-UN funded projects .Provide capacity-building sessions for partners on financial management, record-keeping, and reporting, focusing on meeting requirements from UNICEF, WFP, OCHA , and other major donors .Review support documentation for partners to ensure compliance with donor requirements and financial reporting standards for both UN and non-UN funded projects .· Projects / grants budgets are accurate, complete and compliant with donor requirements. · Enhanced financial competencies among local partners, promoting self-reliance and accurate reporting. Guide Finance Officers, ensuring effective team operations and alignment with donor financial guidelines from UNICEF, WFP, OCHA, and other donors Support the dissemination of understanding regarding financial policies (including COCCA) and donor regulations (including UNICEF, WFP, OCHA, USAID, DFID ) across the organization and among partners. Participate in grant start-up workshops and training sessions in collaboration with relevant donors (including UNICEF, WFP, OCHA , and other key donors ), ensuring alignment with financial compliance requirements.2. Experience with humanitarian aid in-country, including working with UN agencies such as UNICEF, WFP, OCHA , and other international donors, is a plus. This experience should demonstrate the ability to navigate complex financial reporting and compliance requirements within the humanitarian context. Proven ability to manage and coordinate financial operations in challenging environments is highly valued. Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, budget/cash flow monitoring and internal accounting controls.
Solid knowledge of government grant regulations and financial reporting requirements.
Ability to solve complex problems and to exercise independent judgment.
Knowledge on Turkish Social Security and Tax Legislation is a plus
Good working knowledge of computerized accounting systems must be computer literate in Microsoft Office programs.
Analytical skills and good attention to details.
Good oral/written and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work on a cross-cultural environment with a multi-national staff.
