DURATION: 5 months
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE APPOINTMENT:
This position is based in Azraq/Zaatari camp and works under the programme/school feeding unit to support the implementation of School Feeding activity in the camps on a day-to-day basis. The incumbent will report directly to the School Feeding activity manager to ensure smooth implementation of the activity in the camp, and accurate reporting on the activity.
At this level work is carried out under minimum supervision. Job holders are expected to produce organized and accurate technical work and reports. They may provide guidance on standard practices to other staff and counterparts in their area of work, and they perform monitoring activities within a specific coverage area and provide reports to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
Coordinate and monitor the implementation of food assistance programme at the local level. Distribution of food commodities (date bars) under the school feeding activity in the camp. Maintain information records and monitoring plan documentation, such as records of commodity movements and programme checklists, to assist in the effective delivery and distribution of food items. Collate assistance programme data in accordance with clear direction, to support programme reviews and informative decision-making. Adhering to guidance and policies in relation to logistics management of the food commodities. Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of the distributed food commodities. Take part in hiring and managing the distribution workers in the camp (the Incentive Based Volunteers, IBVs). Receive and collate comments and feedback from the field, and beneficiaries, to support identifying programmatic issues with a view to fostering efficient operations. Prepare field mission reports to document programme implementation. Identify any apparent issues in the programme and report them to the appropriate supervisor in a timely manner. Assist in the conduct of regular meetings of beneficiary leaders and IBVs on the commodity pipeline, distribution arrangements, food entitlements and other relevant issues. Perform other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate is a plus
Experience: At least four (4) years of progressively responsible support work in the related area.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Has field experience on food distribution.
• General knowledge of WFP monitoring and evaluation systems and standards is a plus.
Languages: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.
