SAP Principal Business Process Consultant - Data Migration Lead

Lead the data migration effort for a Greenfield SAP S/4HANA private cloud implementation. The project involves migrating legacy systems, including FI, Procurement, Reporting, and Material Management, Plat Maintenance, Project Systems etc. modules built on COBALT, to SAP S/4HANA. The candidate will ensure seamless migration with minimal disruption to business operations.

The SAP Data Migration Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end data migration activities. This includes data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading from legacy systems into SAP S/4HANA, ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the migration process. The role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, technical consultants, and external vendors to deliver a successful data migration strategy.

• Develop and execute a comprehensive data migration strategy, including data cleansing, extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  
• Lead the data migration workstream, including setting up governance, processes, tools, and timelines.
  
• Work closely with business process owners to define data mapping and transformation rules from COBALT to SAP S/4HANA.
  
• Ensure data quality by performing thorough validation and reconciliation of migrated data.
  
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams to resolve data migration issues and optimize performance.
  
• Coordinate with SAP Basis, ABAP developers, and infrastructure teams to manage data migration tools and environments.
  
• Provide regular status updates and reports to project management and stakeholders.
  
• Manage risks related to data migration, ensuring that key milestones and deadlines are met.
  
• Conduct post-migration validation, troubleshooting, and support during system go-live and stabilization periods.
  

• Strong experience in leading data migration projects, preferably in SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementations.
  
• Expertise in data migration methodologies and tools, such  SAP Migration Cockpit, and LSMW, LTMC etc.
  
• Proven ability to handle large-scale data migration from legacy systems (e.g., COBALT) to SAP S/4HANA.
  
• Deep understanding of SAP FI, Procurement, Reporting, and Material Management data structures and business processes.
  
• Experience with ETL processes, data mapping, data cleansing, and validation.
  
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA data models and best practices for migrating to cloud-based solutions.
  
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  
• Ability to manage stakeholders, work under pressure, and adhere to tight deadlines.
  

• 10+ years of experience in data migration, with a focus on SAP implementations.
  
• 5+ years of experience in SAP data migration for FI, Procurement, Material Management, Project Systems, Plant Maintenance and Reporting modules.
  
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA migrations, including a minimum of 2 Greenfield SAP S/4HANA projects.
  

• Proven experience in SAP S/4HANA data migration.
  
• Expertise in SAP Data Services, LTMC , Migration Cockpit, or equivalent data migration tools.
  
• In-depth knowledge of SAP data structures for FI, Procurement, Reporting, and Material Management modules.
  
• Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of managing a team and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
