Job Description


This an exciting opportunity to Join the Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT ) regional team in the Middle East and North Africa Regional Office  ( MENA  RO ) where you can realize your full potential within a vivid work environment.


 What we are looking for       


The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a qualified, and dynamic Regional ICT Officer.


More About the Role.     


The ICT officer for the  Norwegian Refuge Council Middle east and North Africa Office NRC MENA RO  is responsible for ensuring all NRC Global & Local ICT policies and guidelines are implemented and to ensure the efficient and cost-effective set-up, also will be responsible for technical support and training of staff.


 What you will do       


  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  • Implement delegated support function portfolio according to plan of action.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function.
  • Other tasks as assigned .

  What you will bring      


  •  Responsible of providing first level support to NRC staff, including but not limited to network, printers, computers software and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Ensures effective coordination of ICT helpdesk functions and provide support to NRC Staff.
  • Assist in roll out of new software or hardware to all devices.
  • Assure that all software on NRC equipment is licensed and keep record of licenses and support contracts to include notification of renewal timeframe to management.
  • Configure, manage and support network equipment.
  • Conduct awareness sessions and ICT training when needed.

  • Duty station:  MENA RO Amman – Jordan. 
  • Contract: Fixed Term National Contract, 12 Months renewable based on Incumbent’s Performance, Funding availability and business need, 
  • Salary/benefits: Grade 5 step one on NRC’s Jordan  salary scale, 
  • Experience working as a Support Function in a humanitarian/recovery context.

  • SRO ICT Coordinator
  • MENA RO Amman staff and visitors
  • Head Office ICT Team

Scale and scope of position


•    Staff: Does not directly manage staff


•    Information: All ICT related procedures and policies;


•    Legal or Compliance: Code of Conduct, Donor Agreements, NRC Acceptable Use Policies.

  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written

  • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Office, Office 365, Network infrastructure.

Context/specific skills, knowledge and experience:


Qualification requirement: University degree of IT or equivalent Years of Experience: 2


  • experience in ICT Technical Support, or any relevant field related to IT. Has a very good technical background in Windows, MS office and Office 365, experience in troubleshooting and configuring network, and has a very good level of English both written and verbal.
  • CCNA is a plus.

  • Position: Regional Information, Technology and Communication (ICT) Officer.
  • Reports to: Regional Information, Technology and Communication ( ICT)  Manager.
