BACKGROUND:
“Oasis Blooms” is a one-year project, funded by the UN Women, collaboratively designed through a participatory process involving the lead applicant, Acted, and its partner SIGI. this intervention aims at ensuring that Syrian women refugees are better served by humanitarian action and resilience-building initiatives in Jordan through the running of the existing Oasis centers in Za’atari and Azraq camps (three in Za’atari and one in Azraq). Acted and SIGI will build on their expertise in supporting women’s wellbeing and access to livelihood to offer a comprehensive and holistic intervention that will build the resilience of Syrian women refugees who live in Azraq and Za’atari camps.

adherence with acted’s greening policy:
ACTED’s greening strategy aims to tackle environmental degradation and climate change while meeting the needs of the most vulnerable who are often those most affected by the deepening environmental crisis. Each ACTED employee will adhere to these principles through key green

adherence with acted’s pseah policy:
The Project assistant has the responsibility to adhere to the PSEAH Policy (Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment). The Livelihood Project assistant should complete all mandatory training related to the Code of Conduct and the PSEA policy and report any safeguarding concern such as breaches of organizational policies or codes of conduct according to ACTED’s procedures. The (Project assistant) carries out work duties in a way that does not harm children, vulnerable adults or other staff or volunteers.
JOB PURPOSE
The project assistant will play main role in the project to achieve specific objectives: a) Create and sustain access to self-reliance opportunities for Syrian women refugees through cash for work activities b) Build a conducive environment for increasing Syrian women refugees’ active participation in decision making processes in the camps including meaningful engagement in community mobilizations efforts; c) Increase awareness on women rights and responsibilities for an inclusive, equitable and peaceful society through training, enhancement of life skills and other social cohesion approaches; this includes addressing prevention and response to gender based violence though awareness raising, trainings, and referrals to service providers of psychosocial, health, and legal services as appropriate.
OBJECTIVES
· Create and sustain access to self-reliance opportunities for Syrian women refugees through cash for work activities.
· Build a conducive environment for increasing Syrian women refugees’ active participation in decision making processes in the camps including meaningful engagement in community mobilizations efforts.
Increase awareness on women rights and responsibilities for an inclusive, equitable and peaceful society through training, enhancement of life skills and other social cohesion approaches; this includes addressing prevention and response to gender based violence though awareness raising, trainings, and referrals to service providers of psychosocial, health, and legal services as appropriate.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the day-to-day management of the oasis centers. This includes:
· Managing the oasis team to follow up weekly/monthly timetable of activities and sharing it widely with beneficiaries and partners;
· Develop ideas and build relevant linkages to ensure sufficient relevant activities for women and girls at risk;
· Ensuring the continuation of viable volunteer related opportunities in each center;
· Overseeing the allocation of volunteer opportunities provided to Syrian refugees;
· Review the existing strengths, gaps and opportunities and implement strategies to scale up and strengthen the work undertaken in each center;
· Coordinate with other UN Women camp based staff to link center beneficiaries to other camp based initiatives, including those related to protection services and community mobilization;
· Coordinate, liaise and offer operation support with identified implementing partner (responsible parties) to implement the relevant project component in the Oasis or provide other services to center beneficiaries (e.g. hygiene related awareness raising, rights related information, etc.);
· Work with the UN Women protection focal point to maintain a function referral system in each center. This includes:
· Undertaking protection related awareness raising in all centers.
· Following up on activities linked to the programme response to Syrian refugee crisis in Jordan;
· Oversee and Contribute significantly to the day to day operational and administrative tasks of the Centers based on delegation of roles responsibilities;
· Regularly participate and contribute to relevant interagency coordination spaces as requested;
· Provide timely data collection for reporting purpose;
· Participate in relevant trainings and workshops as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related fields.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in administration tasks in camp.
· Experience working on project implementation in a humanitarian setting is required /camps.
· Experience working on gender equality and women’s empowerment is required.
· Efficiency in using (Microsoft office, specifically excel)
