Jordan Bromine Company, a leading company in the field of chemical industries, is seeking to invest in the best talents. Therefore, we announce an opportunity for the position of Process Design Engineer we offer this distinctive opportunity to work in a stimulating and professional environment, where you will be responsible for designing and improving manufacturing processes within chemical production facilities, as well as to design and oversee the implementation of medium- and large-scale technical projects in the workplace environment, including plant expansions, production technology upgrades, or the development of new products.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Study and analyze improvement and project requirements and identify appropriate technical solutions to meet those needs.
• Evaluate and refine process designs received from Albemarle and develop process and operational system designs to ensure safe operations. This includes analyzing process requirements, conducting feasibility studies, and creating process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and other documentation as required.
• Identify appropriate equipment—such as reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, and separators—based on process requirements and performance standards.
• Conduct process simulations to model and analyze the behavior of chemical processes, predict performance, optimize operating conditions, and address potential issues.
• Monitor processes and analyze data—particularly from CIT engineers—to identify opportunities for process improvement and sustainability. Implement changes to enhance efficiency, profitability, and reduce the environmental impact of material manufacturing processes, such as energy consumption reduction, product quality improvement, or increased production capacity.
• Ensure process designs comply with safety regulations and environmental standards, including conducting Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), safety reviews, and implementing risk mitigation measures to prevent accidents.
• Apply chemical engineering knowledge and standards in designing, installing, and operating new modifications in accordance with JBC and Albemarle standards and approved engineering practices.
• Develop technical specifications and project documentation, including specification sheets, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Implement development actions arising from incident investigations, Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), and Management of Change (MOC) processes, ensuring operations comply with safety standards.
• Conduct field and performance testing to study and monitor impacts, determine system and process capabilities, assess the effects of new operating parameters, and develop models of fluid and chemical systems for proposed improvements and developments.
• Estimate the costs of equipment, materials, and utilities required for process design. Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and project teams to develop accurate cost estimates and evaluate the economic feasibility of projects.
• Perform any other tasks assigned according to the department's nature of work and as directed by the immediate supervisor.
