Job Description

  • Follows up and executes all the works assigned by the assistant chief engineer.
  • Takes prompt action relating to all maintenance orders concerning all plumbing services in the guest rooms, kitchen, health club,toilets, plant-rooms, swimming pool, all staff and guest locker rooms and all related areas.
  • Performs preventive maintenance works on all plumbing lines and sanitary fixtures as per the annual maintenance chart.
  • Notes all required spare parts and consumable material and instructs the storekeeper of the requirements.
  • With the help of the checklist, inspects the hotel on daily bases for any defects on the plumbing services and sanitary fixtures and takes prompt action to rectify the defects.
  • Takes the responsibilities of the pool attendat.
  • Takes regular readings on water and gas consumption and records it on the energy consumption record charts
  • Assists the general mechanic, boiler-man and refrigeration technician whenever required.
  • To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name badge at all times.
  • To provide courteous and professional service at all times.
  • To maintain a positive and professional working relationship with your departmental colleagues, and all other departments.
  • To have a complete understanding of and compliance with the companies policy relating to Fire & emergency, Hygiene & Grooming, and Health & Safety.
  • To maintain a high standard of conduct, personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
  • To have a complete understanding of the hotel’s employee handbook and adhere to the regulations contained within.
  • To attend all training as requested by Management.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in a professional capacity.
  • Comprehensive  experience in maintenance of  sanitary fixtures, pipe lines and fittings.
  • Comprehensive experience in operation and maintenance of boilers, pumps, sewage plant and pool.

Additional Information

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift. 


  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
