By submitting your application, you consent to these terms and acknowledge that your candidacy will remain under consideration pending final funding decisions.Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.Description of DutiesSupport the project team in the design and set up of a drought monitoring and forecasting system for Jordan. Within the team, the meteorologist / climatologist will support the design of seasonal forecasts for drought conditions.Requirements Education At least Master’s degree in meteorology, climatology or related fields. At least 10 years of professional experience in weather and climate forecasting Experience Relevant experience in developing seasonal forecasts for drought conditions. Experience in Jordan and/or the Middle East is an asset. Soft skills Ability to coordinate with local administrators, government, NGOs working with community projects and agencies. Ability to work under pressure and long hours at different locations. Flexible and adaptable to any situation. Self-reliant and able to work independently. Great team player.
