Job Description

The main objective of the job:


Develop and lead BDC’s marketing, communications and public relations strategy and communicate the vision, mission, achievements and key messages of the organization with marketing and communication tools and approaches tailored to targeted audiences. The ultimate goal is to increase BDC’s visibility and promote its products and services to existing and prospective audiences with interactive marketing approaches.

Key audiences:


  • International development sector (UN agencies, Embassies, International Non-Government Organizations, Governments from abroad, the broader international community)
  • Other potential clients and partners (Banks, the Jordanian private sector, training service providers, Jordan’s employment and entrepreneurship sectors)
  • Potential participants of BDC projects (youth, entrepreneurs, refugees, civil society organizations, communities in Jordan’s 12 governorates, governmental bodies)
  • Policy makers and policy influencers
  • by making effective use of a variety of approaches, to increase the organization’s visibility and promote its products and services to existing and prospective client

Duties & Responsibilities:


Marketing 50%


  • Develop a strategic long-range plan consistent with the vision statement. Analyzes appropriate ways to bring this message to the various target groups
  • Prepares effective outreach campaigns based on market research  which may include social and online media, print media, direct mail, and other multimedia
  • Consults with staff to understand goals and scope of the desired marketing program
  • Identifies appropriate social media platforms and other web-based tools to use in the promotion of each product or service
  • Oversees the implementation of online marketing plans; compiles and analyzes data to measure the effectiveness of such plans
  • Reports campaign results to management, addressing any questions or concerns
  • Identifies and recommends improvements and modifications to existing programs and additional or new marketing tools and opportunities
  • Maintains current knowledge of online marketing opportunities and trends, web analytics, and SEO techniques.
  • Manage marketing and PR budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently

Communications 20 %:


    • Develops and/or executes social media and content strategies to release information on the organization in a manner that will promote a positive public image.
    • Generate newsworthy coverage of BDC events, program interventions, client activities, export activities, youth programs, and other initiative accomplishments
    • Provided articles that can enhance reports to donors , thus emphasizing success stories that help to explain BDC beyond the aggregated indicators

Public Relations  20%:


  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with media outlets, government, donors, and public interest groups
  • Identify and develop partnerships with other organizations or influencers to promote BDC’s services.

Events Management 10%:


  • Managing and developing macro and micro events, working with a team, designing banners, brochures, posters, ushering the event, dealing with VIPs, covering the event through social media and organizing various elements for a successful event

  • Education background:

Bachelor Degree, University degree in Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Journalism or related field


  • Experience:

Minimum (7) years of demonstrated professional management and delivery experience in public relations, marketing or communications in Jordan and the Middle East.
