Learning Support Coordinator

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized learning plans (ILPs) for students with learning difficulties. 
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to assess students’ needs, monitor progress, and adjust educational strategies as necessary.
• Provide guidance and professional development to educators on best practices for supporting students with learning difficulties.
• Oversee the evaluation process for students requiring additional learning support, coordinating assessments and ensuring appropriate interventions.
• Serve as the main point of contact for families, addressing their concerns and keeping them informed about their child’s progress and any changes to the learning plan.
• Stay current on best practices in educational strategies and interventions for students with learning difficulties.
• Lead regular meetings with staff and parents to review student progress, set goals, and ensure effective implementation of ILPs.
• Monitor and report on the overall effectiveness of learning support programs within the school, recommending improvements as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in special education, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in working with students with learning difficulties.
• Familiarity with adaptive teaching strategies, interventions, and other resources for students with learning difficulties.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and students.
