Job Description

Job Purpose :REACH Yemen is seeking an Assessment Officer (AO) to support its Health portfolio. The AO will liaise with the Yemen Health Cluster to improve assessments, monitoring, and evidence-based planning. Key responsibilities include enhancing assessment tools, refining data collection processes, and strengthening data analysis and visualization. Additional tasks may be assigned based on REACH's capacity and the needs of the Health Cluster. Objectives :Coordination and Communication: Act as the focal point between REACH, the Health Cluster and partners, ensuring alignment with priorities and maintaining clear and effective communication. Data Analysis and Visualization: Support the health cluster in producing clear, user-friendly outputs (dashboards, factsheets) and enhance data visualization to support evidence-based decision-making. Strategy Development: Contribute to the mission Health portfolio with the guidance of the Public Health Senior Assessment Officer, and monitor the impact of outputs to align activities with Health Cluster needs. Ad Hoc Support: Provide additional support for the health cluster.FUNCTIONS :Under the supervision of the REACH Public Health Senior Assessment Officer, the Health Assessment Officer will perform the following functions: Coordination and CommunicationServe as the focal point for engagement with the Yemen Health Cluster and its partners. Facilitate regular communication to clarify objectives, timelines, and action points, ensuring alignment with Health Cluster priorities. Maintain organized and proactive communication channels to support remote collaboration. Implementation and Data ManagementOversee all operational stages of health-related assessments, including tool piloting, training, and coordination of data collection activities. Ensure effective data cleaning processes, addressing gaps to improve data quality. Identify and implement improvements in data processing practices. Data Analysis and Visualization :Enhance the visual representation of health-related data to improve comprehension and support evidence-based decision-making. Perform evaluations of visualization tools, such as Public Health Information Services (PHIS), to identify revisions and improvements. Support the production of high-quality outputs, including factsheets, dashboards, and other visualization products, ensuring alignment with Cluster needsStrategy Development :Contribute to the development of a Health portfolio strategy within the REACH Yemen Sectoral Unit, identifying key objectives, stakeholders, and opportunities for expansion. Monitor the impact of outputs to ensure activities respond to identified needs and support the Health Cluster's priorities.
