Since the end of 2021, DKH has been working on reorganizing its global offices, guided by the vision to strengthen regional and local structure: Operative decision-making power will be where operations happen and support DKH’s mission to empower our partners and engage in localized humanitarian assistance. DKH overcomes geographical boundaries and understands itself as one organization.
DKH’s Regional Hub Asia, based in Amman, Jordan, provides comprehensive program support to DKH Programs and local partners in the region. The Asia Hub also referred to as the Asia Type 2 Office, has six units: [1] Type 3B - Middle East Program (MEP) Unit, [2] Type 3A – Yemen Unit, [3] Type 3A – Pakistan and Afghanistan Unit (at interim capacity until December 2025), [4] Type 2 Finance and Administration Unit, [5] Type 2 Program Support Unit and [6] Bread for the World (BftW) Dialogue Office under the Asia Hub.
The Finance Assistant is responsible for supporting financial operations by maintaining records, processing transactions, tracking budgets, and ensuring compliance with policies and donor regulations. He/she will assist with reporting, audits, payroll, and cash management to ensure financial transparency and efficiency in supporting the organization’s mission.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Area of Responsibility: Finance
Work Location: Amman, Jordan
Starting date: 01.05.2024 or earlier upon availability
Contract Duration: One Year
Working under the supervision of and in close collaboration with the Finance and Admin Manager, the Finance Assistant is responsible for undertaking the following tasks:
Accounting
o Ensures the management of the data file and the appropriate filing of the electronic and hard copies of the financial documents and reports.
o Quality Assurance of the scanned finance documents
o Day-to-day accounting & bookkeeping of the DKH RO financial transactions and ensure the proper filing of the associated documentation.
o Prepare cheque, Transfers, and ensure proper receipt by the appropriate payee and on time
o Maintains payment record of all invoices received.
o Recording and monitoring the petty cash and conducting cash counts with the cash holder.
o Recording & monitoring closely Office & travel advances (Request, liquidation, payback, book-keeping etc.…)
o Carries out payments of all regular area office expenses such as office rental, telephone, bills, advances, etc
o Reconcile Bank accounts and other Balance sheet accounts.
o Keep track of the Company’s Asset register in alignment with the procurement officer and conduct periodic physical inspection.
o Carries out any other duties that may reasonably or exceptionally be required to ensure the smooth operation of DKHRO's work, such as substituting for absent colleagues, etc
o Checking & verifying documentations received & liaise with others to ensure quality and following relevant DKHRO requirements.
Administration, Logistics, and Procurement
o Check monthly car & phone log reports and ensure collection of private usage of DKH RO’s staff
o Oversee logistics and other administrative tasks required.
Audit and Compliance Process
o Support the Regional Office Finance Department with dealing with the National Chartered Accountant and auditors to ensure a proper annual closure.

• Accounting Principles & Financial Management: Understanding of basic accounting, financial reporting, and budget monitoring.
• NGO Financial Procedures & Compliance: Knowledge of Financial Policies and Procedures.
• Bookkeeping & Record-Keeping: Experience in maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and processing transactions.
• Financial Software & Tools: Practical experience in QuickBooks would be an asset.
• Practical experience in computer systems, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems are an asset
• Excellent computer skills and competency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Auditing & Reporting: Familiarity with internal and external audit requirements, financial documentation, and report preparation.
• Cash & Bank Management: Handling petty cash, bank transactions, reconciliations, and financial controls.
• Tax & Payroll Administration: Basic understanding of tax regulations, and employee reimbursements.
• Procurement & Expense Processing: Knowledge of procurement policies, vendor payments, and expense management.

TARGET SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
• Relevant bachelor's degree (Accounting)
• 0-2 working experience in Administration, Finance, Procurement, and Logistics or a combination thereof, preferably with an international non-governmental organization (INGO).
• Excellent written English skills and very good spoken English
