Job Description

Job Brief:

Responsible for overseeing all areas related to Umniah’s corporate, enterprise and commercial communications and brand management programs including marketing communications, press and media relations, digital communications, sponsorships, corporate social responsibility, content creation, website and strategic media buying and management to drive strategic corporate growth and positive brand positioning across all platforms of Umniah.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage corporate communications strategy and oversee all corporate brand management while ensuring consistency & uniformity internally and externally - centralize brand messaging strategy, architecture and guidelines.
  • Responsible for creating and implementing a dynamic organization-wide digital communications strategy supporting corporate objectives and ensuring mission, message and brand are used professionally and effectively across the internet.
  • Set and develop the strategic direction and manage the implementation of Umniah’s marketing strategy and road map and lead Media strategy and ensure the most efficient and effective media buying and booking.
  • Ensure articulation of Umniah’s desired image and position while assuring consistent communication to all constituencies, both internal and external.
  • Responsible for the achievement of marketing/communications mission, goals and financial objectives. 
  • Develop the full planning of the communications budget in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Act as an internal consultant to bring attention and solutions to institutional priorities.
  • Contribute to the development and management of a basic media relations strategy with intention of raising Umniah’s visibility and promoting its image with internal and external audiences.
  • Build and expand the visibility of Umniah’s brand and reputation in corporate social responsibility with focus on Umniah’s strategic platforms.
  • Create and evolve strong relationships and partnerships with key external and internal stakeholder groups.
  • Oversee the Youth Unit team direct marketing projects to ensure personalized and effective communication with the market.
  • Provide an interactive e-commerce experience through web and establish an interactive approach for Umniah’s across its social media platforms.
  • Lead strategic direction for Umniah’s digital presence across web, mobile and social media platforms.
  • Ensure the strategic and tactical use of social media to manage our key messaging, enhance reputation and to respond quickly and decisively to counter any inaccurate or potentially damaging comments.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, evaluation process of new employees.
  • Provide guidance and delegate responsibilities to subordinates to facilitate performing different tasks to support succession planning process.
  • Manage subordinates' administrational requirements.
  • Assure that all subordinates are following Umniah’s policies and procedures and highlight any violation for the code of conduct.
  • Manage economic, efficient and effective budget plan and control in alignment with the department and Umniah’s strategy.
  • Ensure that employees are engaged and motivated through creating a respectful and trusting relationship with them and communicating Umniah values.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in management by accommodating individual employee needs such as adjustable schedules or remote work options.
Leadership/Management
  • Manage subordinates’ learning & development requirements and ensure that it is successfully delivered and provide related feedback to the management.
  • Assign roles and workload distribution, set team objectives and conduct regular informal one-on-one meetings to deliver personalized feedback and provide support to attain goals.
  • Conduct formal performance evaluation process for the subordinates in order to optimize workplace productivity
