A leading ed-tech startup operating across the MENA region is seeking a dynamic Chief Accountant to oversee and streamline its regional financial operations. Based in Jordan, this role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, leading the financial management for operations in Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will bring a strong audit background, regional expertise, and a proactive approach to scaling financial systems in a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regional Accounting Management: Oversee and consolidate financial accounts for operations across Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.
- Audit Expertise: Lead and manage external audits to ensure compliance with international and regional standards.
- Startup Financial Operations: Implement and enhance accounting systems tailored for startup scalability, ensuring precise financial reporting and analysis.
- Financial Consolidation: Develop and execute strategies to unify regional financial data into cohesive reports for executive and board reviews.
- Hands-On Leadership: Actively manage daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the executive team, communicating complex financial insights effectively to drive informed decisions.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure adherence to local tax laws, international accounting standards, and corporate governance requirements.
Qualifications:
Mandatory:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven audit background with hands-on experience in managing end-to-end audits.
- Regional accounting experience across multiple countries, preferably in the MENA region.
Preferred:
- CPA or ACCA certification.
- Experience in a startup environment, with a strong understanding of financial challenges and opportunities in high-growth companies.
- Demonstrated success in managing accounting functions remotely or on-site across diverse locations.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
