Job Purpose :REACH Yemen is seeking an Assessment Officer (AO) to support its Durable Solutions Area-Based Assessments (SBAs) in Yemen. Under the supervision of the Senior Assessment Officer (SAO), the AO will play a critical role in ensuring evidence-based programming and strategic decision-making for durable solutions efforts in alignment with evolving humanitarian and development needs. The AO will contribute to a dedicated research cycle on Durable Solutions SBAs, including: Research Design and Partnership Building: Supporting methodological development and coordination with key partners, including the Durable Solutions Working Group (DSWG) and relevant clusters. Data Analysis: Analysing data collected by partners to inform comprehensive and localized durable solutions strategies. Output Production: Leading the development of outputs to provide holistic insights into readiness and pathways for durable solutions. Additionally, the AO will represent REACH Yemen in external engagements, including contributing to discussions on methodologies, tools, and programmatic priorities with key stakeholders such as the DSWG, UNHCR, and relevant clusters. By supporting these activities, the AO will help ensure REACH’s assessments remain aligned with the Strategic Framework for Solutions for Internal Displacement in Yemen and broader durable solutions frameworks in Yemen.Objectives :Lead Research Cycles for Durable Solutions Area-Based Assessments (ABAs) across targeted areas. Strengthen Coordination with stakeholders (DSWG, UNHCR, clusters) to ensure relevance and impact. Promote Evidence-Based Programming by disseminating findings to inform durable solutions strategies. Ensure Quality and Accountability throughout research, analysis, and reporting processes.FUNCTIONS :Research Planning: The AO will contribute to developing comprehensive research designs following area based approaches, methodologies and ToRs, according to IMPACT’s requirements and principles, as well as partners’ information needs. Research Implementation: The AO will be responsible for: Liaising with partners in Yemen during the data collection exercises. Coordinating the data cleaning work with the Data team. In close liaison with UNHCR, CCCM/Protection Cluster, DSWG, UNDP, IOM and other relevant actors, ensure that data is revised, cleaned, analysed and stored according to IMPACT’s Data Management Guidelines. Preparing the data analysis framework in collaboration with partners. Overseeing the data analysis conducted by the Data team. Generating and documenting robust lessons learned and ensuring knowledge and learning processes are shared with other REACH and IMPACT teams as well as external partners Drafting of Research Products: The AO will be responsible for producing and/or overseeing the production of all relevant outputs related to the research cycle. Ensure the drafting of timely, accurate and impactful outputs that consolidate the analyses of this research cycle into relevant outputs. External engagement:The AO will support communication and coordination with external partners throughout all stages of the Research Cycle. Represent REACH in relevant meetings/working groups and present research findings to relevant third parties in order to enhance their use and impact. Promote an active use of research findings by partners and the broader humanitarian community for their decision-making. More generally, contribute to the creation of a positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of IMPACT’s mandate, ethics, values and standpoint with regard to other actors. Team Management & Capacity Building: The AO will liaise closely in his/her day-to-day tasks with the Senior Assessment Officer (PH SBAs SAO), the Research Manager (Public Health RM), the data team (Data Specialist and Data Officers), as well as the GIS team. Internal Coordination: The AO will be responsible for enabling effective internal coordination within the REACH Yemen team, including: Actively participate in regular team meetings. Ensure regular coordination and exchange with relevant colleagues. Engage in the development and implementation of IMPACT’s strategy in Yemen. Provide inputs to proposal development and reporting where relevant.
