JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title Accountant Location Amman Jordan Mission Leaders International for Economic Development Contract Open ended contract Start Date December 1 2024 Reporting to Senior Finance Officer Working Hours Full time position 40 hours per week nbsp nbsp nbsp nbsp Leaders International Leaders International is an international network of local organizations that plans manages and monitors innovation and economic development interventions in the region Through its offices in Brussels Amman Ramallah and Tunis Leaders International provides complete project management services with a focus on private sector development enterprise development job creation entrepreneurship D4D economic policy dialogue and tourism value chain development nbsp Job Summary As an Accountant at Leaders International you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department under the guidance of the Senior Finance Officer Your responsibilities will include assisting in maintaining accurate financial records handling day to day financial transactions and aiding in the preparation of budgets and financial reports Collaborating closely with the Senior Finance Officer you ll contribute to ensuring compliance with financial regulations supporting grant applications and providing valuable assistance in financial analysis efforts nbsp Job Task and Responsibilities Financial Record Keeping Assist in maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies Support daily financial transactions including accounts payable accounts receivable and payroll tasks Aid in the preparation and maintenance of budgets under the guidance of the Finance Officer Compliance Support Work alongside the Finance Officer to ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations laws and reporting requirements for not for profit organizations Assist in the preparation of financial reports required by stakeholders donors and grantors Grants and Funding Assistance Provide support in preparing grant proposals budgets and financial reports for funding applications Assist in monitoring grant expenditures to ensure alignment with donor requirements Financial Analysis and Reporting nbsp nbsp nbsp nbsp nbsp nbsp nbsp Contribute to financial analysis efforts and assist in generating reports for review by the Finance Officer and other stakeholders nbsp Qualifications Knowledge and Experience Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or related field Prior internship or 1 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance preferably in a not for profit setting Familiarity with accounting software and MS Office suite Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards Strong analytical and problem solving skills Good communication skills to collaborate effectively within the team Detail oriented with the ability to follow instructions and learn quickly nbsp Personal attributes and other requirements nbsp nbsp Committed to Leaders International for Economic Development aims and values nbsp nbsp Highly organized self starter able to work alone or as part of a team Please submit your CV no later than 15 12 2024 If your application is successful you will be contacted to take a written test attend an interview and provide references if needed Our recruitment procedures are based on a policy of equal opportunity that respects social and cultural differences avoids discrimination of any kind and encourages the creation of an inclusive work environment nbsp
