The Vehicle Inspection Lead (VIL) will work on a rotational basis with four weeks in country 'on' rotation and four weeks at home 'off' rotation. We are looking to recruit for potential candidates to join in January 2025.
The VIL's primary function will be the controlling the day-to-day activities of the vehicle inspection facilities along with supporting the team and client’s contractors on the client’s contractual requirements for vehicle standards.
They will also be required to mobilise throughout clients contract area, in support of Land Transport Authority, visiting check points, rig sites, degassing and CP stations or other facilities, in addition to supervising land.
Role tasks and responsibilities
- Provide overview of complex HSE activities, such as rig and abnormal moves and ensures adherence to the clients large and heavy vehicle standard.
- Review and provide feedback on complex HSE activities such as rig-moves, large and heavy vehicle journey management plans, including route surveys.
- Assist with the development and communication of safety policies, procedures and manuals as required.
- Assist following HSE related incidents ensuring appropriate collection of information, documentation of events and reporting as per contractor and clients’ policies.
- Conduct oversight and verification activities to systematically test barrier strength for risk control and mitigation measures.
- Conduct vehicle and plant inspections on behalf of client to ensure safety standards are being complied with.
- Able to demonstrate basic mechanical knowledge of light and heavy vehicle functions, including but not limited to, safety, load carrying and load securement
- Conduct field verification visits for compliance with the client standards at various locations throughout client and contractor sites.
- Provide site-based coaching to client and contractor staff.
- Deliver proprietary clients vehicle and plant maintenance and inspection coaching to Control Risks personnel and nominated contractors as directed by the clients driving safety team.
- This shall include a combination of classroom and practical coaching.
