Job Purpose


The Site Planning Engineer is responsible for developing and managing site planning activities to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget. This role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams during the FEED and design phases, focusing on onshore and brownfield projects. The Site Planning Engineer will play a crucial role in implementing effective planning strategies, ensuring resource optimization, and mitigating risks associated with site operations.


Job Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using suitable project management software.
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, and procurement teams to assess project requirements and ensure alignment with project scope.
  • Perform risk analysis and assessment to identify potential issues in project execution and propose corrective actions.
  • Monitor project progress and report regularly to senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate site assessments and prepare relevant reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety on-site.
  • Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders and foster strong working relationships.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing insights on planning and scheduling aspects.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by proposing innovative planning solutions and methodologies.
  • Assist in the development of progress reports and other documentation as required by project management.

Functional Responsibilities


  • Implementing site logistics and resource plans, considering workforce and construction equipment requirements.
  • Coordinating with the engineering team to integrate design changes into the project schedule effectively.
  • Evaluating and monitoring subcontractor performance in relation to planning and execution benchmarks.
  • Preparing and analyzing variance reports to identify schedule delays or inefficiencies.

Technical Skills


  • Proficient in project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Familiarity with FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) processes and brownfield project challenges.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Competent in risk management and mitigation strategies.

Soft Skills


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.

Qualification


Mandatory:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in related field from reputed university.

Good to have:


  • Master’s degree in Engineering in related field from reputed university.

Work Environment


  • The role will primarily be based on-site in Iraq, requiring a commitment to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. The position may involve working in varying weather conditions and adhering to local health and safety regulations.
