Job Purpose


The Site Lead - Mechanical & Piping will be responsible for overseeing mechanical and piping construction activities on the ROO Project. This role is critical for ensuring that all operations meet safety, quality, and schedule requirements, particularly in a brownfield environment. The Site Lead will collaborate closely with various teams to drive project success and maintain operational efficiency.


Job Responsibilities


  • Lead Site Operations: Manage and oversee all mechanical and piping activities on site, ensuring adherence to project schedules and specifications.
  • Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and train mechanical and piping teams, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused work environment.
  • Project Coordination: Liaise with engineering and project management teams to facilitate smooth execution and resolve any arising technical issues.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to guarantee that all installations and materials conform to project standards and specifications.
  • Safety Management: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on-site, conducting regular safety briefings and risk assessments.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of site activities, including progress reports, material usage, and incident reports, and provide regular updates to management.
  • Resource Allocation: Ensure the adequate supply of materials and equipment for ongoing work and manage the logistics associated with mechanical and piping installations.
  • Be a Leader in HSE Excellence and mentor all direct report field staff in daily activities
  • Execute field construction activities in conformance with project drawings, specifications, international codes, schedules, cost estimates, procedures, quality requirements, and ROO HSE standards with specific emphasis on COW (Control of Work) and Risk Assessment

Technical Skills


  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical and piping systems, particularly in oil and gas sectors, with experience on brownfield projects.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards related to mechanical and piping installations (e.g., ASME, API).
  • Proficiency in construction methodologies and site management practices.
  • Experience with mechanical design software and project management tools.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and environmental considerations in construction.

Soft Skills


  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate teams and drive performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Adept problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all work.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and often fast-paced environment.

Experience


  • Minimum of 8-12 years of onsite experience in mechanical and piping roles, specifically within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership in complex construction projects, especially in brownfield settings.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or related field).

Work Environment


This role will be based on-site in Iraq, involving direct engagement with local and international teams.
