Position Summary:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Process Engineer provides process engineering support to the projects and operations teams. Specifically, this will include assisting the operations team with day-to-day process engineering related activities such as plant optimisation, engineering queries and operating within the management of change (MOC) process. In addition, the role will support the projects and engineering team in the creation of work scopes for conceptual and front-end engineering design and will interface with third party engineering companies regarding existing engineering projects.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the operations team with troubleshooting, plant optimisation and root cause analysis. Support the Project and Production / Operations teams, including the assessment of engineering queries and creation of management of change (MOC) documentation. Provide process engineering input to assist in the creation of work scopes for process related studies (e.g., conceptual, feasibility, etc.) Provide process engineering input to engineering project work, including review and approval of engineering documents such as P&IDs, C&Es, etc. Review specifications for process equipment and assess their suitability. Participate in project HAZOPs, as required. Review actions from previous HAZOPs and progress their completion. Promote an integrated approach by working within a multi-disciplinary team to incorporate process, mechanical and E&I engineering expertise into the design and construction of HKN facilities. Interface with other HKN engineers to ensure that best practices are defined and shared.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Process or Chemical Engineering. Member of an internationally recognized Professional Engineering Association.
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of relevant onshore upstream oil and gas industry experience. International oil and gas experience in the MENA region.
Skills:
Effective leader and team player. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel to site is required on occasion. This requires an acceptable level of mobility and fitness to carry essential safety equipment (escape sets).
