Senior Geologist (2024 TAS 107) 

We are looking for a Senior Geologist services with the following details :

• Location : Basra, Iraq
• Work Scheme: Rotational 4x4
• Start : November / December 2024
• Duration : 1 year, renewable 

Experiences / Qualifications:

• Studies /Education: Degree in geology or petroleum geosciences.
• Work Experience: Minimum 10 years of experiences in petroleum geology, including at least one experience in an operated asset.
• Extensive knowledge on carbonate and clastic reservoir deposition, sequence stratigraphy, regional tectonics evolution and impacts on reservoir geometry and quality.
• Extensive knowledge on 2G&R synthesis
• Extensive knowledge of using geomodelling tools for geological model building.
• Ability in developing good relationships within the internal departments, with projects teams, HQ, partners, and authorities.
• Ability to understand, explain and present complex technical material to both technical and non-technical audiences in a persuasive and convincing manner.
• Soft skills: Open Mindset, anticipation, and agility to adapt workstream, ability to listen, proactive behavior, resilience sometimes.
• Team player and ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multi-cultural team.
• Languages: Fluent in English, French and Arabic is a plus.

The senior geologist will:

• Work under the direct supervision of the Geology Manager.
• Work with geoscientists concerning data Quality Control (QC), data loading, and to maintain databases updated.
• Respect Corporate Data Management rules – Confidentiality, Preservation and Security of data.

Main scope of work

• The job holds direct responsibility for the production and the performance of the Ratawi oil field through geoscience data acquisition, 2G&R synthesis, geological model updates/building, and field development optimization. He or she will
• Work on regional geological (structural and depositional) contexts of the developed reservoirs.
• Participate in the definition, coordination and follow up of geological specialty studies. Ensure appropriate geoscience data integration to the development of project and near-by upsides.
• Perform 2G&R synthesis, updating and rebuilding of reservoir models.
• Ensure the evaluation of in-place volumes and associated uncertainties.
• Participate in delivering the well drilling sequence, and the geosciences-reservoir data acquisition in wells.
• Participate in the monitoring of development wells, contribute to the reservoir monitoring plan, and the updates of Field development plan.
• Provide geological coaching to less senior geologists within the team.
