Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team in Baghdad, Iraq. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic procurement initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing practices across our operations.
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies to optimize cost savings and maintain quality standards
- Source and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and build strong vendor relationships
- Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new products to inform purchasing decisions
- Collaborate with department heads to understand and fulfill their procurement needs
- Implement and maintain inventory control systems to prevent shortages and overstocking
- Conduct regular vendor performance evaluations and resolve any quality or service issues
- Prepare and present comprehensive purchasing reports, cost analyses, and forecasts to management
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Implement sustainable procurement practices aligned with the organization's environmental goals
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing management roles
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in procurement software and inventory management systems
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a proven track record of team management
- Experience with sustainable procurement practices and supplier diversity initiatives
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to transparent procurement processes
