Project Manager (Food Security and Agriculture Value Chain Expert)
Description of Duties
The Food Security and Agricultural Value Chain expert will serve as focal point for the supervision of project activities.*
Ensuring quality standards are met and timeline respected.*
Acting as a Project Manager under the support of the Country Representative, the Food Security and Agricultural Value Chain expert will also lead on the technical aspects of the project.*
As a Project Manager s/he will define the framework, methodology for the assessment, drafting the inception and final report*
Ensuring regular exchanges with FAO project focal point and other relevant parties.*
S/he will lead the development of an analysis framework, collate, and categorize the collected data according to the framework, and finally, proceed with the data analysis.*
To ensure maximisation of resources, the Food Security and Agricultural Value Chain Expert will work remotely and is not expected to visit Iraq as communications can be done online.*
Requirements
Minimum of a masters' degree qualification from a recognized university in development studies, economics, social studies, agriculture, rural development, value chains, or any other relevant field; Fluency in English (oral and written) is a must; Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years' experience in food security analysis and/or conducting agriculture value chains assessments and analysis; Must possess solid methodological and research skills demonstrated through several research pieces and assessments/studies; Must possess excellent report writing, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills;* Demonstrated experience of working in the EU funded projects, a UN agency, international NGO or donor agencies highly desirable;
