Position Summary:
The role of the Operations Support Assistant is to assist in maintaining the integrity of the security infrastructure and will support the various security functions related to the operation. This will include assistance in security related documentation and report writing, logistics, journey management, liaison, as well as other duties as needed. This position will report directly to the Operations Support Manager.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct regular intelligence-gathering activities on regional security developments, coordinating with intelligence sources to stay informed of emerging risks. Conduct thorough onboarding security sessions for new employees and periodic briefings for returning staff. Log regional incidents, including airstrikes, into a database for threat tracking and trend analysis Create and update departmental policies to comply with local laws, industry standards, and best practices. Develop and regularly update emergency response plans, ensuring all personnel are well-prepared for various crisis scenarios. Together with the Operations Support Manager, coordinate response efforts during critical incidents. Assist with planning and participate in security audits to identify security gaps and recommend actions to strengthen operational security Assist in preparing and monitoring the security department's budget, optimizing resource allocation to effectively meet operational goals. Establish and maintain relationships with Kurdish Security Forces, government officials, and industry security managers. Work with company CSR team to resolve community-related issues through actionable solutions Manage Journey Management Coordinators and drivers, including training, evaluations, and scheduling. Manage security contractors to ensure compliance with agreements, focusing on operational efficiency and contract compliance. Identify and arrange continuous learning opportunities for security team members, fostering skills growth aligned with organizational goals. Track and manage security-related assets, including vehicles, equipment, and technology, ensuring availability and proper maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English and Kurdish; Arabic at a conversational level is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Earth. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, collaborate effectively as a team member, and lead in an exemplary manner. Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with various departments. Consistently professional demeanour, etiquette, and appearance, with a disciplined approach to responsibilities. Strict adherence to confidentiality, with no tolerance for breaches. High standards of professionalism in conducting duties and maintaining operations. Willingness to undertake tasks outside core responsibilities to support daily operations. Capable of working independently or as part of a team. Commitment to developing and sustaining strong relationships with external partners.. Demonstrates growth potential and the ability to lead by example. Dedication to staying updated on security techniques and technologies through international certifications, security briefings, and training. At least 10 years of security experience in the Oil and Gas sector within the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). Previous experience in military, police preferred. Possess a valid driver’s license.
