A Junior Category Manager is a person who is responsible in building and maintaining strong, long-lasting supplier relationships based on trust and respect. The Junior Category Manager has to clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to upper management. Responsibilities: Serve as the lead point of contact for all suppliers, negotiate new contract, and extract up front and back marginsBuild and maintain strong, long-lasting supplier relationships based on trust and respectNegotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profitsAnalyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trendsClearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to upper managementDevise long-term development strategies for product categoriesFoster trust relationships with suppliers to achieve better pricing and quality of servicesPrepare reports on positioning of a product category to maximize visibilityCommunicating with suppliers to understand their needs and explain product valueCollecting and analyzing data to learn more about consumer behavior and propose ideas to increase revenuesResolving complaints and preventing additional issues by improving processesLiaise with the marketing coordinator to determined competitive pricing promotional activities of a product category Requirements: Proven work experience as a Category Manager or similar roleProblem solving skills and analytical skillsFMCG experience is preferredProven ability to juggle multiple projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detailExcellent listening, negotiation and presentation skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsBA/BS degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or relevant field
