Summary
Lead and oversee all weapons-related tasks on F-16 aircraft, focusing on the management and maintenance of launch, release, monitoring, gun systems, munitions handling, and test equipment at the Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facility. As the F-16 Weapons Lead, you will provide direction, training, and support to a team of weapons technicians to ensure all work meets safety, quality, and performance standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead, guide, and perform disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of M61A1 gun systems. Supervise and perform the removal, inspection, and reinstallation of digital triple ejector racks, MAU-12 bomb racks, wing weapons pylons, and LAU-129 missile launchers. Diagnose and resolve issues with stores management systems, ensuring thorough troubleshooting, testing, and repair as needed. Conduct operational checkouts to verify systems reliability and functionality, implementing corrective actions when required. Oversee and perform wiring harness replacements for munitions stations, including those required by Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs). Utilize Multiplex Bus Fault Isolator (MBFI), Stores System Tester (SST), Multimeter, and other testers to perform required electrical tests, confirming system reliability and operational readiness. Train and mentor technicians on weapons maintenance best practices and safety protocols. Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel. All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Provide oversight, training, and mentorship to weapons technicians, ensuring team performance aligns with company and customer standards. Plan and delegate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure that all team members have the resources and knowledge needed to complete their responsibilities.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance. In order to obtain a secret clearance, qualified candidates must have US Citizenship. Ability to pass physical screening requirements
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Desired: Completion of Technical or Military School Training. Minimum 5 years of related experience on USAF fighter aircraft, with demonstrated expertise in F-16 weapons systems. Experience with interpreting blueprint drawings, diagrams, specifications, service manuals, sketches, templates, and incomplete data.
PREFERRED
F-16 Avionic and/or Electrical System USAF 7 – Level Current FAA issued Mechanic certificate with Airframe Ability to work in an austere environment and to perform work in a hangar or aviation field environment
Work Conditions
Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed on the flight line, limited hangar or aviation field environment.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and parts, tooling and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs, including up and down stairs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
