Summary
Lead the final assembly and completion stages for the F-16 aircraft. This role demands a strategic and hands-on leader to guide a skilled team and ensure production milestones are met in safety, quality, cost efficiency, and schedule adherence. You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, streamline processes, and maintain operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and mentor a team responsible for the efficient production and completion of the F-16 aircraft, with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and schedule compliance. Enforce company policies, safety standards, and production protocols to uphold high standards in product quality and operational performance. Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and support timely delivery of completed aircraft. Establish productive working relationships with internal departments, DCMA, and the System Program Office, ensuring alignment on production goals and exceeding customer expectations. Oversee resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to maintain a smooth production flow and resolve any logistical challenges. Assess team performance, provide constructive feedback, implement corrective actions as needed, and recognize outstanding contributions to promote a high-performance culture.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance. In order to obtain a secret clearance, qualified candidates must have US Citizenship. Ability to pass physical screening requirements
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Minimum 5 years of experience in aviation production, maintenance, aircraft structure modification, repair, or overhaul operations. Demonstrated experience in leading teams to meet critical deadlines, resolve complex issues, and ensure production standards. Proficient in blueprint interpretation. Strong customer relations skills and experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Desired Skills
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize assignments effectively. Prior 7-level skill rating from the Air Force, Marine, or Navy, or equivalent civilian credentials such as FAA “Airframe and Powerplant” or Inspector Airframe license. Experience with structural repair, fabrication, and assembly, particularly with fighter aircraft. Experience in performance metric creation, monitoring, and reporting. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and processes.
Work Conditions
Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed on the flight line, limited hangar or aviation field environment.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and parts, tooling and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs, including up and down stairs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
