Position Summary
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the operation officer and Project Manager, the driver ensures that HAI staffs are driven safely to the field, meetings, workshops, and other work-related destinations between the Iraqi provinces and that the assigned vehicle under his charge is maintained in an optimal working condition. The employee in this position must have and maintain a valid and recognized Iraqi driving license and must abide by the Iraqi Traffic Rules & Regulations. Individual accountabilities and work volume will be established through the development of annual Success Objectives, within the framework outlined below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- No Employee has the right to use the vehicle for his personal issues without prior notice.
- While parking in the public areas, the Employee has to watch his vehicle for the security situation.
- The out city speed limit is (100 KM per hour- Maximum), while in city speed limit is 60 km per hour or determined by the speed of the road.
- The weather is to be taken into consideration while driving especially when it rains and the roads are wet.
- In case of any traffic accident, the Employee has to follow organization vehicle Accident policies and protocols (indicated in the Security Plan).
· Only HEARTLAND ALLINACE materials/goods, or other items authorized by HEARTLAND ALLINACE may be transported in the Driver’s vehicle while the said vehicle in service to HAI.
· No weapons or illegal materials/goods may be carried in the vehicle at any time.
· Transport of contraband or prohibited items is strictly prohibited. Any violation of this regulation will give HEARTLAND ALLINACE the option of terminating this contract, without notice.

English Proficiency Level Required: Beginner
Arabic Proficiency Level Required: Advanced
Kurdish Proficiency Level Required: Advanced
Qualifications and Education (required):
o Minimum of Primary School leaving certificate.
o Valid driver’s license.
o Defensive driving certificate, if available.
o 5 years’ work experience as a driver with a safe driving record.
o Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies.
o Conversant with the road network and traffic regulations of Kurdistan in general and Duhok specifically.
o Skills in minor vehicle repairs. Knowledge of Office-area transportation system
o Awareness of and respect for diverse cultural contexts and values, which is essential for working with people from different backgrounds.
o Ability to plan efficient routes, using GPS or maps, to meet deadlines and minimize delays.
o Elementary use of computers (e.g. email, internet, word processing).
