Building and Civil Engineering Technical Officer

Title:

Location – Erbil, Iraq – 12 weeks on/3 weeks off

Duration – 5 years + 2 – Facilities Management Operations (FMO)

Please note this role requires UK SC Clearance. Applicants must be eligible to obtain an SC Clearance, which requires UK Nationality and a 5 year footprint in the UK.

Please note this is not a tax-free assignment and you will be subject to UK tax for the duration of the assignment.

The Role

We seek an experienced Building and Civil Engineering Technical Officer to overseeing projects across Ministry of Defence (MOD) sites in Iraq, Oman, UAE, and Bahrain.

Responsibilities

• Producing contracts, designs, and specifications

  
  

• Managing project risk and ensuring HSE and CDM 2015 compliance

  
  

• Conducting site inspections for quality, safety, and progress

  
  

• Responsibility for building and civil engineering layouts

  
  

• Assist in designing mechanical and electrical engineering elements

  
  

• Assist in the preparation of tender documents

  
  

• Preparing cost estimates and option studies

  
  

• Overseeing technical issue resolution and repairs

  
  

• Managing personnel, equipment, and resources

  
  

• Developing new work proposals and supervising site surveys

  
  

• Using commercial software for design, planning, and reporting

  
  

• Ensuring legislative compliance and high safety standards

  
  

• From inception to completion – meeting client requirements to final delivery

  
  

What We Need

• Minimum HND in Construction related discipline, together with proven relevant experience

  
  

• Practical quantifiable experience in all aspects of Building and Civil engineering installations

  
  

• Experience in all aspects of construction site management

  
  

• Must have strong sub-contractor management

  
  

• Must have previous design experience

  
  

Desirable:

• Hold valid DE certification of relevant discipline

  
  

• Hold a valid (3-day standard) First Aid certificate

  
  

• Experience of Managing Sub-Contractors
