Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Assistant Chief Engineer to join our team in Baghdad, Iraq. In this crucial role, you will work closely with the Chief Engineer to manage and optimize our facility's operations, ensuring the highest standards of maintenance, energy efficiency, and guest satisfaction.


  • Assist the Chief Engineer in organizing and managing the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient facility operations and prompt resolution of maintenance issues
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Analyze and optimize energy consumption, recommending and implementing conservation measures
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of public spaces, guest rooms, and back-of-house areas
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and local building codes
  • Manage inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective procurement
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the engineering department's budget
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members, supporting their professional development
  • Participate in renovation and improvement projects, offering valuable insights and expertise
  • Respond to and resolve guest complaints related to facility issues promptly and efficiently

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality setting
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience in team management and development
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, informed decisions
  • Proficiency in energy management and conservation techniques
