To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

At Barclays, we don’t just adapt to the future – Embark on a transformative journey as Wholesale Credit Tech Solutions Lead - VP, where you'll spearhead the evolution of our wholesale credit tech team, the goal of this role is to bridge the gap between technical execution and team leadership, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality engineering solutions that align with organizational goals. You will act as both a technical expert and a leader, driving innovation, efficiency, and collaboration within the engineering team. Your responsibilities include coaching and mentoring team members, fostering teamwork, participating in hiring, and managing performance reviews. You role also encompasses planning and executing projects, managing risks, and communicating with stakeholders. Your strategic contributions include shaping the technical roadmap and recommending new tools and technologies. You need to have hands-on development, including coding, code reviews, and debugging, particularly with KAFKA or similar frameworks.
To be successful as a Wholesale Credit Tech Solutions Lead - VP, you should have experience with:
- Strong technical expertise in financial domain (Preferable Credit Risk Domain)
- Strong technical knowledge on Architecture and Design (At least handled solutioning of ~2 complex distributed projects/systems)
- Technical skills in .NETCORE, C#, SQL, Angular, REACT, JAVA Spring Boot (Desirable), Any UI framework, Oracle/MSSQL, DevOps CI/CD
- System design and infrastructure design knowledge, cloud computing, Security, Database Design
- Working experience in Microservices, Micro-Frontend architectural design
- Working knowledge and experience in KAFKA, IBM AMQ, Application performance management tool, Log Analytics, Kibana
- Working knowledge and understanding of application design pattern and data patterns
- Leadership, shareholder and Project Management
