Industry/Service Higher Education Post/Job Title Web Designer-Developer Job Purpose We are looking for an experienced, motivated and versatile web designer/developer, specializing in building beautiful and responsive sites based on modern web standards that ensure cross-browser compatibility and accessibility.
Primary duties include conceptualizing and implementing creative ideas for the IIMB website and all related sites such as Conference sites, UG sites, Digital Learning sites, Centre/ Area/ Programme sites, Partner Programs, etc. as well as creating visual elements that are in line with our branding. You will be working closely with our web development team to ensure proper and hassle-free implementation.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent visual design skills and be proficient in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
Job Type Contractual – Non-Teaching No. of positions One Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities - Conceptualizing creative ideas with all our stakeholders.
- Implementing the designs with the development team
- Testing and improving the design of the website and all related sites.
- Establishing design guidelines, standards, and best practices, and creating and updating the style guide.
- Maintaining the appearance of websites by enforcing content standards.
- Designing visual imagery for websites and ensuring that they are in line with branding of IIMB.
- Working with different content management systems.
- Communicating design ideas using user flows, process flows, site maps, and wireframes.
- Incorporating functionalities and features into websites.
- Designing sample pages including colors and fonts.
- Preparing design plans and presenting the website structure.
Key Skill and Ability Required - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Expert-level skills related to interactive web design and front-end user experience and interface development, for all web devices and modern browsers.
- Ability to educate others on best web practices and help guide others to consider options while creating design solutions.
- Ability to exhibit stylistic breadth, attention to detail, and balance beauty, innovation, and usability.
- Demonstrated understanding of how implementation decisions impact user experience in terms of browser and device compatibility, accessibility, internationalization, and performance
- In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related website development technologies and software.
- In-depth knowledge of content management systems, such as Drupal, including the ability to perform standard installations and configurations.
- Ability to innovate.
- Advanced knowledge of user profiling, usability testing, and quality assurance practices; ability to design, conduct, analyze, report on, and act on usability test and QA findings.
- Knowledge of web analytics tools and related analyses and reporting.
Qualification and Personal Profile - Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe creative suite products, with emphasis on Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Demonstrated proficiency in modern front-end development tools and languages.
- Demonstrated ability to design responsive websites.
- Demonstrated ability to install, configure, and administer CMS such as Wordpress and Drupal.

Other requirements - The candidate is expected to work extended hours and weekends.

Compensation - The indicative annual CTC will be around Rs. 14 Lakhs. The compensation will be fixed based on IIMB Contract Appointment Rules.
