As an Trade Associate in the Portfolio Management Group you will be responsible to have a close partnership with the global PMG trade co-ordination team to manage trades through their entire lifecycle, including evaluating hypothetical scenarios, applying trades to customized products, planning trades, communicating with stakeholders, and conducting post-trade analysis. You will navigate the complexities of liquidity, capacity, trade sizing, and customization while ensuring compliance with fair allocation and best execution policies.


We are looking for a dynamic individual, with strong attention to detail, data analytical skills with an innovation/automation mind set and a keen interest in financial markets to be an integral part of the PMG team in Mumbai, India.  


The Portfolio Management Group (PMG) is comprised of trading groups based in New York, Columbus, Delaware, London, Geneva, and Hong Kong and is responsible for trade planning, daily management, monitoring, rebalancing, and implementation of tactical calls across discretionary investment management and trust portfolios. PMG owns portfolio implementation, enabling the front office to focus on other priorities (growth through client acquisitions, retention, relationship management, etc). 


PMG’s primary goal and objective is to apply Portfolio Construction strategy guidance to individual client mandates, implement appropriate asset allocation and vehicle selection, deliver similar client experience across accounts, and help manage risk by daily monitoring and management of discretionary portfolios.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Partner closely with the Global PMG trade co-ordination portfolio team to facilitate trade planning and creating opportunity sets.
  • Conduct detailed analysis to size trades and assess platform capacity and client impact.
  • Measure results versus expectation post-trade and ensure all aspects of trade appropriately documented.
  • Drive innovative solutions to increase efficiency of trade coordination team as well as broader team.
  • Develop a controls mindset, be able to identify control gaps in the processes and implement innovative methods of making the processes audit ready. 
  • Communicate and partner with the Clients and support teams both locally and globally.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:


  • Masters or Post Graduate degree with 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry, in wealth management or investment organizations. 
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills including data analysis and ability to understand data and data flows.
  • Deep understanding of investments and ability to communicate that knowledge confidently. 
  • Strong independent decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Robust, demonstrated experience with scripting languages such as Python.
  • Highly competent with core MS Office applications – Excel, Access and Powerpoint.Proven advanced Excel expertise is a must.
  • Proven ability to automate and improve processes using technology.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate status updates and points of escalation to the broader team. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work within a dynamic environment.
  • Highly disciplined, self-motivated, and delivery-focused with ability to work independently.
  • Ability to synthesize information, draw logical conclusions, and present findings effectively.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:


  1. CFA would be an added advantage
  2. Exposure to portfolio monitoring/risk or related function
  3. Experience with scripting languages and/or data analysis tools like Alteryx, Tableau and VBA
  4. Strong problem-solving, control, and project management skills
