Machine Setup and Operation:

• Set up and operate VMC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, milling, and cutting.
• Load and unload workpieces onto the machine.
• Adjust machine settings to ensure precision and accuracy.

Programming and Tool Selection:

• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine machining operations.
• Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines or adjust existing programs.
• Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and attachments for each job.

Quality Control:

• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machines.

Process Optimization:

• Monitor the machining process to ensure efficient and safe operations.
• Make adjustments to improve performance and reduce waste.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement solutions to prevent downtime.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Keep accurate records of production, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
• Report any issues, defects, or discrepancies to supervisors.
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and workflows.

These responsibilities ensure that the VMC operator effectively contributes to the production process, maintains high-quality standards, and supports overall shop operations.
