Visualisation Analyst

Role Purpose

As a Visualisation Analyst at Travelex, you will support the business in deriving valuable insight and making data-driven decisions. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders from different business domains to design, deliver and support data solutions, often in the form of dashboards or reports. You will also assist the visualisation team in our journey to enable self-service access to trusted information to our end users.

Your work with data visualisation will help to tell user stories by shaping our data into easily understandable metrics, highlighting trends and useful insights. Your work will continuously underpin important business decisions, working with data engineers and subject matter experts across the company.

Responsibilities

Here are key things you’ll do as a visualisation analyst at Travelex. The list isn’t complete: as a visualisation analyst, you’ll bring to Travelex your own ideas of what else is needed to become a world-class data-driven business.

• Using visualisation tools such as AWS Quicksight to present data in visual forms such as dashboards.
• Producing wireframes and prototypes of visualisations to receive quick user feedback.
• Collaborating with stakeholders from different business domains to understand their data requirements and provide data-driven solutions.
• Providing regular feedback to the visualisation and wider data team in agile ceremonies and on our Jira board.
• Researching and performing proof of concepts on analysis and visualisation tools.
• Training and supporting colleagues on the use of visualisation tools and dashboards produced by the team.
• Keep up to date with visualisation best practices and emerging technologies, and share this knowledge with others.
• Support the team in promoting data literacy and making it easier for users to analyse and make data driven decisions.
• Creating and maintaining documentation for the team and our end users.
• Support our visualisation solutions in production through incident and change management.

Requirements

Below are key requirements from our visualisation analyst. You don’t need to tick every box: success in our team is not limited to a fixed list, but also depends on what else you bring with you.

• Previous 1+ year of experience as a Visualisation or BI Analyst/Developer.
• Familiarity with AWS Quicksight or similar data visualisation tools for creating interactive reports and dashboards.
• Experience in using SQL for querying datasets.
• Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
• A passion for data and visualisation and their role in driving business success.
• Ideally have worked in an agile environment.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.
• An engaging, motivating and supportive team player
• A creative and analytical approach to problem solving.
• Any industry experience in foreign exchange or financial services would be ideal but not essential.
