Job Description

Role Overview: The Vice President of Derivatives Support will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the trading desk. This role involves managing teams responsible for providing support to the traders and desk, troubleshooting issues, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The VP will work closely with traders, desks, risk managers, compliance, operations and technology teams to ensure that all activities and operations align to the prescribed standards, regulatory requirements and best practices. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management: Lead, groom, and develop the Trading Support teams. Foster a culture of collaboration and efficiency, ensuring that the team provides top-tier support to the trading desk. Monitor team performance and feedback, handle resource planning, recruitment, and staff training. Trading Desk Support: Act as the primary point of contact for the trading desk to resolve operational issues quickly and efficiently. Troubleshoot and manage trading-related issues such as trade breaks, booking errors, or system discrepancies. Ensure timely and accurate execution of post-trade activities including reconciliations and reporting. Process Improvement & Optimization: Continuously review and improve operational workflows to enhance efficiency and minimize risk. Implement automation solutions and help develop tools to streamline trade processing and support functions. Collaborate with technology teams to identify system enhancements and ensure effective delivery of solutions. Risk Management & Compliance: Monitor and manage operational risks related to trading activities. Ensure high level of risk adherence and ensure compliance with the various prescribed risk requirements. Liaise with the various risk and compliance stakeholders, to ensure adherence to best practices and operational standards, following timely escalation protocols. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with Trading desks, Risk, Compliance, Operations and Technology teams. Serve as a liaison between the trading desk and other departments to resolve issues and implement solutions. Regularly report on key metrics and performance to senior management. Strategize to expand the Mumbai footprint. Technology and Systems Management: Oversee the use and maintenance of trading platforms, execution management systems (EMS), order management systems (OMS), and other relevant tools. Coordinate with IT teams to ensure system stability, manage system upgrades, and address outages or bugs.
