Job IntroductionAs part of the Wholesale Banking COO team, the Data and Analytics team (D&A) is one of the key areas of strategic growth within INM HSBC. The team is responsible for the delivery of initiatives that translate into value to the wholesale business by increasing revenue, support the identification and management of risk and save costs by increasing efficiencies. This role in the D&A team will be responsible to provide data led strategic insights to business and support any Group / Region led insights initiatives. The role holder will focus on using Data & Analytics to drive business activities and outcomes that improve or transform customer experience, staff productivity, business decision process and operational effectiveness, thereby contributing towards business profitability and market share growth. The D&A team works in close collaboration with colleagues in our Global Development Centres and the local IT teams. The role will be expected to work with offshore team to support local MI and analytics initiatives.The role will be responsible for data support in revenue/ lead generation, running a portfolio of MI and insights projects, including developing the data and technical requirements. Additionally, the role should be a catalyst for the use of D&A services within Wholesale, CMB and GB, building connections across the businesses.Principal Responsibilities :1.Encourage and enable usage of Data Analytics for revenue and lead generation.2.Run a portfolio of MI reporting and analytics projects3.Engage with stakeholders, business analysts and system owners to understand and deliver management reporting and analytics initiatives, translating business problems into hypotheses and then building solutions 4.Translate outcomes of analytics and data science back into business decisions and activities that meet objectives.5.Own the end-to-end lifecycle of reporting and insights projects within key areas, working with D&A to capture demand, secure data, develop prototypes, build pilots and launch solutions6.Identify opportunities to streamline MI and insights products including design and performance7.Connect stakeholders with timely access to advanced data, insight and analytics products / solutions8.Enhance collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to jointly deliver business outcomes 9.Contribute to key initiatives from local and regional Data & Analytics leadership10.Provide technical excellence by searching out best external practice, monitoring technical and professional developments, sharing knowledge and encouraging others to do the same in the best interests of HSBC and its customers. 11.Encourage and enable constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in action and challenging actions and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC’s diversity policy and/or in the best interests of the business and its customers.12.Demonstrate the highest levels of professionalism and integrity, setting exemplary standards consistent with Group Values. 13.Continue to develop skills as a D&A professional14.Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report concerns or observations in terms of control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational risk impact.15.Ensure adherence to best practice delivery standards across the tribe, with risks, issues and dependencies correctly defined and managed.16.Develop and recommend changes and improvements to operating models, procedures and practices based on subject matter expertise and understanding of HSBC and best market practice. 17. Demonstrate a continual desire to implement “strategic” or “optimal” solutions and where possible, avoid workarounds or short term tactical solutions. 18. Work with multiple stakeholders and their varied objectives / purpose, manage priorities, balance resources vs demand and manage stakeholder expectations in offering / delivering a fit for purpose solution19. Be an expert in analytical solutions as well as knowledgeable across a range of HSBC’s product and operational domains20.Detect & reduce redundant activities and outputs (analytics or communications); optimize use of Data & Analytics resource across Group, region and country.
