Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

At Stripe, we recognize that financial crimes—such as money laundering and fraud—pose significant risks to our platform and the broader online economy. Our Financial Crimes team is dedicated to ensuring the security and compliance of Stripe’s services worldwide. We work to prevent bad actors from accessing the platform and engage in proactive efforts to detect, investigate, and mitigate financial crimes. As Stripe scales, our Financial Crimes team plays an essential role in supporting global compliance and maintaining user trust.

What you’ll do

As Stripe continues to grow rapidly, we are looking for an experienced Financial Crimes Vendor Manager to serve as an enablement partner within the Financial Crimes team. In this role, you will oversee the management of vendor relationships that support financial crime detection, investigations, and compliance efforts globally. You will work closely with both external vendors and internal teams to ensure the seamless delivery of services that meet Stripe's rigorous compliance standards, user experience goals, and regulatory requirements.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure vendors are delivering high-quality services that support Financial Crimes operations, such as performing background checks, risk reviews, and investigations related to financial crime. You will be involved in setting strategic direction, defining operational processes, managing performance metrics, and ensuring compliance with Stripe’s internal and regulatory standards.

  • Stakeholder & Partner Management: Act as a strategic partner for internal business teams, ensuring they understand and can execute their services within the vendor ecosystem. Manage relationships with stakeholders including workforce management, engineering, and partner teams.
  • Strategic Sourcing & Expansion: Source new vendor partners or expand the scope of services with existing vendors. Ensure that vendor capacity, profiles, pricing, and locations align with Stripe’s long-term goals and global scale.
  • Contract & Negotiation: Lead negotiations and manage vendor contracts, change orders, and renewals. Have deep knowledge of global pricing models, best practices in Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Global Vendor Infrastructure: Develop and deploy vendor-specific infrastructure globally, including network, security, tools, and processes to ensure seamless integration with Stripe's systems.
  • Performance Management & Reporting: Maintain and analyze key performance metrics, providing regular reports on vendor performance through business reviews. Ensure vendors consistently meet or exceed performance expectations.
  • Workforce Management: Manage headcount-related matters with vendors, including growth, new lines of business, and attrition targets. Work with vendor leadership teams to ensure high-level execution and alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Culture & Values Champion: Represent Stripe’s values and user-centric philosophy, fostering a culture of transparency, empathy, inclusion, and empowerment in all vendor interactions.
Minimum requirements
  • 5+ years of experience leading vendor operations  (preferably in high-growth, financial services, or technology companies)
  • Experience leading a global service delivery with mandates for user experience, compliance adherence, and quality assurance of transactions
