Amazon is a global organisation at the forefront of the digital economy and offers a great opportunity for a dynamic and experienced indirect tax professional within Amazon's international indirect tax compliance function. The VAT Compliance Analyst will work on indirect tax compliance and audit for Amazon group entities primarily in the Middle East and Africa region. The analyst is expected to work independently with minimal support with internal and external business partners, identify and implement process improvement opportunities and drive positive change across the organisation.
Key job responsibilities
•Managing day to day indirect tax compliance reporting for some key Amazon group entities
• Working closely with cross function teams and improving tax compliance processes
•Individually owning the process and work related to indirect tax audit
•Evaluating the tax effect and implications business transactions from a tax compliance and audit perspective
•Reviewing tax accounting, provisioning and leading interactions with internal and statutory auditors
•Working on various projects impacting the future strategy of the indirect tax function to minimise/mitigate adverse litigation
Publishing trackers and dashboards on key tax risks and exceptions
•Working with internal stakeholders to gather required information for effective management of audits.
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
- - 4 to 6 years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- - 4 to 6 years of Indirect Tax Compliance and Audit experience
