Role Description


About MVRM-Valuations Control


Valuations Control (VC) is a 2nd line of defence function within the ‘Market Valuations & Risk Management’ (MVRM) department under the Risk umbrella. VC provides analysis on the risk exposure of the Bank by performing Independent Price Verification (IPV) on various business porifolios. The function has a Global presence across Mumbai, London, New York and Singapore that operate a business/asset class aligned organisational matrix supported by central functions to provision all official valuation results to key stakeholders across MVRM and Management Board. One such central activity is performed by the Governance & Controls team. The team ensure governance around SOx Contol Framework policies, review and monitoring of control evidence and provide KPI reporting to various stakeholders that facilitate the decision making process.


About the Role


This is an operational role within the Governance & Controls function that reports into the Controls Lead in Mumbai. The main purpose of the role is to provide detailed analysis on the Control state for the respective Business aligned valuation processes. In addition, this role would also provide a synopsis on a weekly, monthly, or adhoc basis as needed by Sr. Management. The role would involve challenging the various valuation teams to understand control gaps and remediation timelines. Considering the dynamic regulatory and audit reviews there may be additional need to perform MI and reporting for key valuation metrics, as needed.


The role also requires to perform reviews and publication of the SOX controls as part of the monthly and quarterly meetings with the Global Heads of the Valuation functions.

Your key responsibilities


  • Monitoring and review of MI to Global stakeholders via the approved platforms
  • Circulation of the monthly SOX KPI and dashboard to global stakeholders
  • Work with the Valuation team to remediate audit findings
  • Publication of metrics and reviews to governance forums
  • Review of processes for adherence to policy and monitoring of control evidence
  • Review of control related policies to ensure fit-for-purpose
  • Drive centralization projects
  • Partner with stakeholders across the department to deliver on projects/audit requests
  • Ensures the alignment to the DB risk management framework as well as to current regulatory and compliance requirements

Your skills and experience


Experience:


  • 1-3 years relevant experience in valuations and governance controls
  • Fair knowledge and experience on regulatory reporting
  • Sound knowledge of financial Fixed Income instruments
  • Has been involved with SoX controls

Skills:


  • A self-starter with an ability to demonstrate ownership, accountability and high on integrity
  • Must have strong MS Excel, Powerpoint skills
  • Quick learner with strong communication skills
  • Analytical approach to problem solving, an eye for detail
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform in a dynamic and challenging Team

Education / Qualifications


  • MBA in Finance
  • CA/CFA
