APMEA HUB –TT&L Heavy Lift Sourcing Team Lead

Mission Statement:
Drive Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) and sustainability to ensure business continuity and long-term stability in our value chain.
Your main responsibility is to manage and develop the heavy lift sourcing team including its individual team members and ensure safe and competitive transportation throughout Asia, Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and Turkey (APMEA) region. Managing any changes or escalation related to budget or logistics concepts for heavy lift projects, drives the CAT CIPS Strategy for the HUB APMEA. Additionally, responsible for the supplier base management process like the qualification of supplier in your area of responsibility as well as their performance evaluation and improvement.
You will be part of the APMEA Supply Chain Management Team which consists of diverse highly skilled senior professionals with multinational backgrounds and high integrity.
Main Activities:
Transport Project Budgeting & Strategic Sourcing:
- Roll out global policies and initiatives in the region and ensure execution within TT&L as well as interfacing functions as part of the defined governance model and structure.
- Communicate and drive the implementation of the TT&L strategy within the organization in close alignment and collaboration with interfacing functions.
- Drive awareness, act as change-agent and support the successful rollout and seamless implementation of new TT&L projects, tools, and processes.
- Accountable for submission of competitive and reliable Logistics concept and budgets during customer offer phase and firm order stage.
- Responsible for submission of competitive and reliable Logistics concept and budgets during customer offer phase for must win projects.
- Review and approve final proposal for heavy lift RFI/RFQ.
- Run SCMIS reporting, analyze spend by supplier, acquire high level market information, access current supplier performance, and analyze internal cost developments in comparison with external price development.
- Responsible for CAT CIPS Strategy and CAT CIPS execution for heavy lift project.
- Accountable for cost performance (Actual Logistics Spend vs. Budget) and H/L Sourcing related cost slippages/COPQ’s.
- Responsible for E2E supplier classification and qualification as well as performance measurement and risk evaluation-process.
- Finalize Supplier Qualification decision, submit progress update, monitor supplier progress and update corrective action plan track list until qualification completion and CAP list upload into SAP Ariba.
- Manage supplier performance evaluation, review list per category, review evaluator list per factory, execute SPE assessment, classification strategy and share results with suppliers.
- Responsible for maintaining the repository of supplier qualification and performance evaluation in SAP Ariba.
- Ensure required global frame agreements for the Hub available in Ariba.
Issue resolution and Claim Management:
- Accountable to evaluate issue case and provide needed time for issue resolution.
- Accountable to solve any escalations to H/L Sourcing for APMEA.
- Accountable for freight settlement dispute resolution within defined threshold
- Accountable for end-to-end claim management process for heavy lift project within the defined threshold
- Facilitate stakeholder engagements to educate business units on the level and magnitude of the change and build their desire to support the change.
Leadership & People Management:
- Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly defined, organized, staffed, skilled, and directed.
- Guide, motivate, and develop direct subordinates following HR policies, and coordinate talent management and succession planning within the assigned area.
- Lead by example, coach and mentor staff and support individuals to succeed and develop
- Identify and assess opportunities for individual training needs and career development.
Your background:
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, logistics or equivalent.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in supply chain management, project logistics or other strategic position containing large part of negotiation.
- Deep knowledge of transportation terms, cost breakdown, incoterms and total cost of ownership.
- Experience from power transformer or energy industry is a plus.
- Good knowledge of customs regulation, legal, contractual and commercial terms in international supply and logistics.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking and planning skills.
- Proven skills in negotiation and contract management.
- Experience in leading and working in cross-cultural teams.
- Customer oriented approach and ready to engage with users.
- Experience in tender management especially using “online” sourcing tools in an advantage.
- Knowledge of various tool i.e. S4Hana, SAP Ariba & TMS.
