Job Description

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signaling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Traction Control System Project Manager in our dynamic engineering department we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your project management and embedded electronics expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, dedicated, and safety-conscious teammates.

You'll lead a team to design the control command of the Traction System, ensuring the success of our projects while adhering to our QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) objectives and Site EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) directives. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Traction Skill Leaders, Domain Leaders in Engineering, SSM, PrEM, and TrSE), manage resources, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of implementing DFQ rules, promoting project solutions, and managing subcontracting specifications, but also contribute to performance indicators and improvement plans.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Guaranteeing EHS objectives and compliance with safety regulations

  • Being the primary point of contact for PrEM and TSE for Traction Control activities

  • Managing, developing, and training Engineers and Technicians within your domain

  • Ensuring the application of software development rules and methodologies

  • Defining Control Command content, tasks, and planning for projects

  • Overseeing workload, staffing, and resource reporting

  • Managing subcontracting from specification to delivery validation

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Experience or understanding of embedded electronics in project management

  • Knowledge of traction systems and their control command

  • Familiarity with EHS practices and regulations

  • A certification in project management or a related discipline

  • Proficiency in software development principles and tools

  • Experience with EN50128 or similar normative constraints (SSIL2)

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work within established EHS standards to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of mobility

  • Utilise our collaborative working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

  • Progress towards leadership roles and advanced project management

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
