Job Description and Responsibilities

The Test Manager role is part of the Business testing team within VPL’s Global Operations & Payments Network and reports into Senior Manager. The business testing team manages the testing of various network partner markets as per route spec and testing of multiple client’s onboarding workflows into Visa/VPL environments. The business testing/User acceptance testing should be conducted to in line with network partner & client’s business requirements/route specs to ensure the VPL’s business process & procedures to be met on a day-to-day basis.

What we expect of you, day to day:

• Contribute and support for business test strategy and business test plans for each partner/client implementation testing
• Should involve in both hands-on testing (50%) and test management activities (50%) on day-to-day basis as it’s a hybrid position
• Should lead/manage our internal test team members and 3rd party supplier test resources on daily basis and responsible for their day-to-day activities to ensure the testing deliverables to be completed on time
• Excellent knowledge of software test lifecycle and familiarity with various types of delivery methods (including Agile/BDD, Waterfall, CI/CD)
• As a strong business test manager, you should be skilled in functional & business acceptance testing, with an aptitude and desire to work and collaborate with other business users
• Confident in developing advanced test plans, acceptance criteria and test conditions from user stories, technical designs, and specifications.
• Conduct the peer reviews among the team members during testing phase and identify the gaps and advise them to follow the pragmatic approach with relevant solution.
• Define, document, and maintain business test scenarios and test cases in collaboration with business users, business analysts and Product owners
• Translate the business requirements and operational workflows into business test scenarios and relevant test cases
• Conduct business testing execution to ensure the testing standards should meet business requirements and route specifications
• Conduct defect triage meetings with business analysts, product owners and other relevant business users to ensure the relevant issues to be fixed prior to sign-off
• Should involve in various stages of testing which starts from Network UAT, Client’s testing and production testing.
• Good understanding and hands-on experience in API & test management tools (such as Postman, ReadyAPI, JIRA, Zephyr, etc.,)
• Ability to assess testing risks and then estimate, plan, and priorities tasks accordingly.
• Liaise with internal & external stakeholders to make them aware of their requirements and provide the relevant support during the testing to meet their expectations
• Provide the bespoke test completion reports once the relevant testing phase completed
• Ability to work under pressure, both in terms of deliverable deadlines, but also in terms of communication with managers and resources under difficult situations and deadlines
• Support & manage the automation testing initiatives/activities whenever necessary
• Team leader with passion to motivate, engage and instil learning culture on the job.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

• 7+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• ISTQB/ISEB Qualified
• Should come from payments or banking & financial industry
• More than 7+ years of experience in software testing and 5+ years of experience in lead/manager level
• Strong experience in managing the mid-size (c.10 members) testing teams across various locations and 3rd party supplier teams
• Good understanding of end-to-end cross border payment processing flows and proven testing experience in payments industry especially with SWIFT MT/MX, SEPA, ACH & Global RTP payment schemes.
• Proven experience in test processes and methodologies with experience in adopting industry best practices
• Strong experience in testing of REST & SOAP API’s by using Postman & ReadyAPI tools
• Good understanding of JSON & XML templates/formats
• Good experience in test & defect management by using Jira toolsets (Jira Std, Zephyr, etc.,)
• Any automation testing experience would be nice to have
• Independent and hands-on worker who takes ownership and able to operate with minimal supervision and can use the initiatives in a constructive and positive way.
• Good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
