Test Automation Engineering Senior Manager
What you will do
In this vital role you will help transform Amgen’s data and AI pipelines and platforms through Cloud Optimization, Test Automation and Production Assurance. The Senior Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation and management of test automation and assurance services in support of enterprise-level data and AI platforms that enable the organization's data-driven initiatives. This role will closely collaborate with counterparts in US, and oversee the architecture, design, delivery and maintenance of test automation frameworks for data platforms and pipelines critical to Amgen’s data and AI ambitions. The Senior Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineering teams, platform owners, cloud teams and business stakeholders, to ensure excellent test quality. A key aspect of this role involves extensive experience data application and data pipeline test automation leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Databricks, a unified data analytics platform.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Develop and manage the strategic roadmap for Amgen’s data pipeline and data application test automation services
Lead and mentor a team of test automation engineers fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.
Support the professional development of team members through training, coaching, and career development opportunities.
Build and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders, emphasizing value-focused engagement and partnership to align data platform and pipeline initiatives with broader business goals.
Collaborate and partner to strengthen data and application quality, software quality, and assurance.
Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of test automation harnesses, and software quality tools and practices.
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of test automation for data pipeline projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope to accelerate Amgen’s delivery of data projects.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and 10 years of relevant work experience
Must-Have Skills:
Experience leading a team of 10+ people.
4+ years of experience in managing test automation engineering teams for data platforms or applications.
Experience with one or more of AWS/Azure, Databricks or Snowflake
Understanding of Cloud Infrastructure, Data and AI applications, and data pipeline concepts and practices.
Understanding of DevOps tools (Ansible/ Chef / Puppet / Docker /Jenkins)
Understanding of Test Automation tools and experience implementing robust test automation for data pipelines and platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and optimize platform cost and performance.
High attention to detail is essential with critical thinking ability
Outstanding collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This position requires you to work a later shift and may be assigned a second or third shift schedule. Candidates must be willing and able to work during evening or night shifts, as required. Potential Shifts (subject to change based on business requirements): Second Shift: 2:00pm – 10:00pm IST; Third Shift: 10:00 pm – 7:00 am IST.
